This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail, taking ownership, and working collaboratively across the business.
You will support a broad range of tax compliance and advisory activities across the group, including income tax, FBT, GST/BAS, tax accounting, stakeholder liaison and process improvement initiatives. The role will also provide exposure to international tax, M&A activity and broader commercial projects.
THE ROLE
- Assisting with the preparation and lodgement of income tax returns across the group.
- Supporting the preparation of fringe benefits tax returns and related compliance activities.
- Preparing and reviewing monthly BAS, GST reconciliations and other indirect tax obligations.
- Assisting with tax effect accounting, tax calculations and reporting requirements.
- Liaising with the ATO, external advisers, auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting responses to ATO queries, reviews and information requests.
- Assisting with tax compliance across Australian and international entities.
- Identifying opportunities to improve tax processes, controls and reporting.
- Supporting the business on tax-related queries and commercial transactions.
- Assisting with tax due diligence, structuring and integration work relating to M&A activity.
- Maintaining accurate tax records, workpapers and documentation.
- Staying up to date with changes in tax legislation and helping assess their impact on the group.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who is proactive, reliable and comfortable working in a hands-on environment. You will bring strong attention to detail, a practical mindset and a willingness to learn.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in Australian tax compliance, either in professional services or a corporate tax environment.
- Knowledge of income tax, GST/BAS and FBT compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
- A commercial mindset and interest in understanding how tax impacts business decisions.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- CA/CPA qualification, or currently working towards one, will be highly regarded.
