Responsible for providing support of HSEQ compliance, management plans and procedures across a range of Construction and Remediation projects in Darwin. Working on the Darwin Ship Lift Facility alongside various other projects within the NT.
This opportunity would best suit an experienced HSE Advisor, who has prior experience and knowledge on Defence and construction upgrade projects.
THE ROLE
- Assist project teams with preparing and implementing HSEQ documentation, including Management Plans and Risk Assessments
- Manage incidents and produce ICAM investigation reports
- Administer incident and hazard reporting processes in line with company procedures
- Support management in fostering a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace culture
- Conduct regular HSEQ site inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify improvements
- Coach site teams on effective pre‑start meetings and toolbox talks
- Coordinate HSEQ training, maintaining competency standards and training records
- Analyse HSEQ performance data, contribute to reporting, and support system updates and continuous improvement
- Maintain the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) to accredited standards
- Prepare project‑specific HSEQ documentation for tender submissions when required
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSE roles within construction, Defence, logistics, or similar environments
- Australian Citizen (required for Defence site access)
- Recognised tertiary qualification in HSE or similar discipline
- Qualified ICAM or TAPROOT Lead Incident Investigator
- Skilled in developing and reviewing HSE Management Plans, SWMS, JHAs, and audit documentation
- Strong understanding of Quality Management and compliance systems
- Confident working independently, managing multiple priorities across varied project teams
- Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and coach others
- Ability to embed and promote Duratec’s safety culture with subcontractors and partners
- Detail‑focused, organised, and proactive with a solutions‑driven mindset
DESIRABLE
- Defence project experience
- Cert IV TAE and Lead Auditor qualifications
- Working at Heights and Confined Space competencies
- Proficient with HSE online management systems, such as HammerTech
