Responsible for providing support of HSEQ compliance, management plans and procedures across a range of Construction and Remediation projects.

This opportunity will see an experienced HSEQ Advisor OR Lead stepping into a well-established safety team, overseeing compliance across multiple sites throughout Melbourne and surrounding areas.

THE ROLE

  • Assist project teams in the preparation and implementation of HSEQ documentation.
  • Support project teams with HSEQ documentation, compliance, and system implementation.
  • Coach site personnel on legislative requirements, company procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Manage incident and hazard reporting, ensuring timely follow‑up and corrective actions.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits; facilitate internal and external audits (including SAI Global).
  • Deliver and support pre‑start meetings, toolbox talks, and HSEQ training programs.
  • Analyse HSEQ performance data, identify trends, and develop initiatives to improve outcomes.
  • Maintain the Integrated Management System to accredited standards.
  • Prepare HSEQ documentation for tenders and project start‑up requirements.
  • Develop programs to address recurring hazards or incident trends.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR HSE LEAD

  • Lead and mentor a team of HSE Advisors.
  • Engage with Project Managers, senior leadership, and clients on strategic HSEQ matters.
  • Oversee HSEQ performance across multiple projects or high‑risk operations.
  • Drive organisation‑wide HSEQ initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an HSE Advisor or Lead role.
  • Experience in Tier 1, mining, marine, concrete/steel, or crane operations is highly regarded.
  • Strong background in Management Plans, SWMS, JHAs, and audit processes.
  • Proven ability to identify trends and implement targeted improvement programs.
  • Understanding of Quality Management systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including working with Project Managers and clients.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a related field.
  • Willingness to travel to Tasmania as required.
