Drive and champion positive safety behaviours, enabling a proactive culture within QLD teams, to ensure overall HSEQ compliance with management system policies, management plans and procedures. This is a permanent role based out of our Northgate office in Brisbane, QLD.

YOUR ROLE

  • Deliver sustainable outcomes in HSE through visible leadership and significant personal contribution to HSE improvement strategies
  • Lead and implement initiatives focussed on safety culture
  • As part of the Queensland Management Team; involvement and engagement in the business strategy
  • Build trusting relationships with your team of HSE advisors and Delivery Teams offering your support and guidance
  • Lead, influence and utilise your HSEQ skills and experience to support project teams
  • Ensure HSE requirements, processes and systems are adhered to
  • Investigate incidents, accidents and injuries, and support return to work programs
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and regular review of the Duratec HSE Management System
  • Participate and facilitate internal and external system audits, implementing corrective actions
  • Provide advice, input, and guidance in the review of HSE plans during tender submissions in the region when needed

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in the Construction/Mining/Oil & Gas sector
  • You will be an enthusiastic advocate of safety with the ability to influence others
  • A great communicator and recognise the essential role of every employee, subcontractor and site leader in delivering safe work outcomes on our projects  
  • Have previously led and guided a HSE team in the Construction / Mining / Energy industry
  • You will be an encouraging team player with the ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines
  • Have an essential qualification in Health & Safety, or equivalent
