THE ROLE
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Ensure all reporting required by the client, including status, project, program, and risk reports, all have sufficient content and are submitted on time
- Overall head contract, subcontract and commercial management support
- Implementation and improvement of Project administrative procedures
- Commercial planning and procurement in accordance with contractual requirements
- Procurement of specialist equipment via overseas supply chain
- Drive the internal project forecasting and budget management processes
- Prepare and manage the internal and external monthly reporting activities
- Prepare and submit variations and proposals in a timely fashion withing contractual timeframes
- Ensure ongoing commercial and contractual compliance and support to the project team
- Identify Contractual risks to the project
- Understand the Scope of Works and identify opportunities and risk to the project
- Establish and maintain project administration processes, including Document Control, RFIs, Submittals, and Transmittals and Variation registers
- Prepare/ negotiate/ let subcontractor packages, and procurement scheduling
- Update, negotiate, manage, monitor, review, analyse subcontractor and supplier contracts, variations and contract notices
- Administer Deeds of Release and Final Accounts at project close out
- Identify project areas of risk, exposure and opportunity and reporting
- Proactively identify and address potential issues and implement ways to respond to client and stakeholder requests for improved outcomes
ABOUT YOU
This would best suit a Senior Contracts Administrator or Contracts Manager with direct experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
- Previous experience in a similar commercial role
- Analytical skills with high attention to detail
- High levels of proficiency on Head Contract and Subcontract commercial correspondence
- Financial or accounting experience (advantageous)
- Ability to understand risks and limitations associated with all project legal agreements and requirements
- Knowledge of project administration and project control applications
- Ability to engage with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Written and oral communication skills with an ability to present information to a range of audiences
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- South of the River based candidates would be best suited for this role
Qualifications & requirements

- Relevant tertiary qualification (Commercial Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management)
