THE ROLE

You will be responsible for providing HSEQ support for refurbishment projects on Defence sites, HMAS Creswell and HMAS Albatross. 

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams in the preparation and implementation of HSEQ documentation
• Coach, advise and educate site personnel of legislative requirements & changes to comply with company procedures
• Administer incident and hazard reporting processes and actions as per company procedures
• Assist management to encourage a healthy safe and environmentally responsible working culture amongst personnel
• Conduct HSEQ site inspections and audits,
• Coach site teams on effective delivery of pre-start meetings and Toolbox meetings
• Coordinate HESQ training programs including the maintenance of competency standards
• Actively analyse HSEQ performance, reporting, system updates
• Maintain the company Integrated Management System to an accredited level
• Compile project specific HSEQ documentation to support tender bids as needed

ABOUT YOU

• Experience in communicating with Direct workforce and working with safe methods of work
• Experience in reviewing of SWMS, JHA’s and conducting Audits
• An understanding of Quality Management processes
• Prior experience leading HSEQ in construction
• Flexibility to travel to various other various areas of SNSW
• Ability to operate autonomously whilst ensuring project efficiency

Qualifications & requirements

• White Card
• ACT Asbestos Awareness (11084NAT Asbestos Awareness)
• ACT Silica Awareness (10830NAT Silica Awareness)
• Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a similar discipline
• Police clearance due to projects being on Defence sites
