Responsible for providing support of HSEQ compliance, management plans and procedures across a range of Construction and Remediation Defence projects. This opportunity will see an experienced HSE Advisor stepping into a well-established safety team, overseeing compliance across multiple sites throughout the Melbourne region  

THE ROLE

  • Assist project teams in the preparation and implementation of HSEQ documentation
  • Coach, advise and educate site personnel of legislative requirements & changes to comply with company procedures
  • Administer incident and hazard reporting processes and actions as per company procedures
  • Assist management to encourage a healthy safe and environmentally responsible working culture amongst personnel
  • Conduct HSEQ site inspections and audits,
  • Coach site teams on effective delivery of pre-start meetings and Toolbox meetings
  • Coordinate HESQ training programs including the maintenance of competency standards
  • Actively analyse HSEQ performance, reporting, system updates
  • Maintain the company Integrated Management System to an accredited level
  • Compile project specific HSEQ documentation to support tender bids as needed

ABOUT YOU

  • Prior experience leading HSEQ in construction and remediation works
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage deadlines
  • Capable of managing incidents and completing reports using the ICAM process
  • Minimum of 3-5 years previous experience in a HSE advisor role, within the construction industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a similar discipline
  • Defence site experience is highly regarded
  • Experience in the creation and reviewing of Management Plans, SWMS, JHA’s and conducting Audits
  • Understanding of Quality Management processes
  • Ability to operate autonomously whilst ensuring project efficiency
  • Must be able to obtain a DCAC pass
