As Group Payroll Manager you will be overseeing Duratec and all subsidiaries; enhance payroll processes and systems while leading the team to high standards. With leadership support, you’ll oversee audits, compliance, process improvements with a focus on team development. You’ll also participate in Shared Service activities and deliver excellent customer service across departments

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the payroll team and educate when required on legislative changes
  • Advise on payroll matters, identify errors and implement corrective actions as required
  • Manage software systems in collaboration with inhouse system specialists
  • Ensure systems are compliant for wage, EA and individual contracts
  • Payroll implementation - if required for any future acquisitions
  • Manage Internal and external audits
  • Reconcile payroll reports and leave provisions
  • Research and provide initial advice on payroll obligations – local and overseas
  • Create team culture of excellence and customer-focused mindset
  • Build positive working relationships with other stakeholders
  • Investigate potential problems; their root causes and contribute to identify practical solutions
  • Hands on approach leading, data entry and payroll processing whilst maintaining a strong governance focus

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other relevant discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience processing high-volume accounts at a similar size company; prior experience as a senior payroll manager highly desirable
  • Knowledge on payroll legislation and award interpretation
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly excel and large payroll systems
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Experience using an oracle-based finance system – preferred
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with a can-do proactive attitude
  • Ability to obtain an Australian police clearance
