Lead the tax aspects of each company that falls under The Duratec group of company’s brand and associate Group DDR Australia (DDR and RC Construction).
THE ROLE
Provide specialist consulting and advisory advice to a large stakeholder group whilst anticipating and supporting business needs.
You will be the conduit between the external advice Duratec group receive from external consultants, and our internal team.
With continued growth, Duratec Group are progressing into overseas projects and you will support the finance team with international tax advice.
- Manage direct and indirect tax compliance for the Group
- Preparation of Corporate Income Tax Returns, Fringe Benefit Tax Returns, Business Activity Statements and Payroll Tax Returns
- Collaborate with finance to ensure that tax risks are identified, communicated and effectively managed.
- Assist with external consultancy firms for International Tax Planning, Compliance and Transfer Pricing documentation
- Preparation of monthly tax effect accounting and tax account reconciliations
- Support with external audit queries on tax effect and tax balances
- Preparation of compliance reporting such as Payment Times Reporting and Taxable Payments Annual Reporting
- Identify business needs and provide tax advice and business insights through analysis modelling and reporting
- Educate employees on relevant tax issues to ensure accurate completion of tax returns
- Assist management with tax governance framework
- Assist with the preparation of R&D incentives when applicable
- Administration of the ERP systems (JDE) and support with improvement initiatives
ABOUT YOU
You will demonstrate time management, communication, and organisational skills to meet strict reporting deadlines, as well as have analytical and problem-solving skills along with;
- 10 years' relevant experience (Big 4, mid-tier firms and/or large multinational corporate tax environments)
- An understanding of international tax, tax consolidation, tax governance and risk management, indirect tax, and withholding taxes
- Ability to explain tax matters for stakeholders in plain, everyday language
- Experience with JDE Edwards (Oracle) and advantage
- Detailed orientated approach
- Comprehensive understanding on Australian and global taxation legislation
- Ability to positively influence, develop and maintain stakeholder relationships
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance
- CA/CPA Qualification
- Police Clearance
