Due to an expanding portfolio of awarded contracts, we have a newly created opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join our Estimating team, based at our Glen Iris office.
Reporting to the Senior Estimator, you will primarily be responsible for estimating tenders and quotes, and ensuring that these tenders are accurate, submitted on time and within the conditions of the tender
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and develop accurate cost estimates, including cost escalation analysis
- Compile accurate material quantity take-offs to develop bills of quantities
- Support the preparation and development of construction methodologies, programs, and submission documentation
- Develop estimates from first principles using site productivity rates
- Construction of tender programs
- Identify the need for additional information or clarification through RFIs to ensure complete tender documents
- Review designs and engineering specifications for cost effectiveness
- Review and validate subcontractor pricing across all service disciplines
- Deliver detailed tenders with traceability and provide support for pre-contracts and delivery
- Coordinate team activities and conduct tender cost estimate review meetings
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain positive relationships
ABOUT YOU
Your ability to be adaptable and proactive will see that you succeed in this role. You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar equivalent
- Prior experience in Defence, Building & Facade, Civil, Remediation, Infrastructure sector, Process and non-process infrastructure, and Water/Wastewater treatment is highly preferred.
- First principal experience with pricing internal labour to complete work scopes.
- Financial and commercial acumen.
- Interpersonal skills, confident, professional and self-motivated.
- Attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
